It includes those exercises in it, but it provides variations, plus countless of other exercises that are uncommon and some that you probably haven't even heard of or seen before.The book starts out with a few chapters that orient you to core exercising, including a chapter that explains how the core muscles work and even has an illustration of the core muscles. It was interesting to learn background information about the core.The majority of the book is packed with numerous core exercises. There are steps that tell you how to perform each move and they are easy to understand. There is also at least one picture (usually two) for each exercise. The images are of good quality and are really helpful when doing the move. The exercises are grouped according to which section of the core they work, and they grow more difficult the further into the section of the book you go.You can tell the author is really knowledgeable about the core, and strength training core exercises, by the detailed information he provides. And the book is well-written, so there is no confusion about the material and it's enjoyable to read.I tried out most of the exercises (honestly, some were too challenging to even try!), which took me one hour, and I got such a great workout that I was sore for days. This book is for beginners, intermediate, and advanced exercisers, because you can do as little or as many exercises as you want. This book will get your core so strong and tight that you'll be so happy you got the book. I refer to it every time I work my core, which is once or twice a week.I highly recommend this concise guide to core exercises.

I've done a lot of abdominal exercises that don't work. Either I didn't feel like my abs were getting a workout or my abs felt the workout but I still didn't get the six-pack I was after. This book is way thorough, starting with simpler exercises and moving on to more advanced ones. The sheer volume and variety is amazing! The author makes it clear, though, that a conditioned core is the main goal, with many health benefits.I've been doing these exercise for a couple of days and can really feel my core getting stronger. My abs definitely feel the exercise. I am hoping for a ripped look, even though the author aims for a strong core. The tips at the back of the book are also really helpful, with regard to diet, water intake, and so forth. I've read other exercise bibles by this author and have found them all to be well-illustrated, backed up by exercise science, and utterly effective.

I have looked at a number of ab books, and this one seems to be the simplest yet most helpful one I have seen! Anthony takes you step by step through some basic core-conditioning exercises. Yes, we might all want "6-pack abs" but he points out that core conditioning is important regardless of whether your abs will ever be visible.The photos are simple illustrations of his clear instructions, which I found very helpful. I also appreciate the inclusion of back exercises, which are very important to balance the increased strength of abdominals.He does caution you to take your time and be careful; but I do wish he would provide some warnings for a few of the more advanced exercises. For example, I once injured my shoulder doing the "bridge" in a yoga class, encouraged by an over-enthusiastic teacher to try something I wasn't quite ready for.Overall this seems like a very sensible guide, and I look forward to incorporating many of his exercises into my workouts!

The book outlines the step you need to take to get yourself a flat belly. It is not only about what exercise to do. It tells you what the core exercises are and their importance for sore strength, as well as how many times to do each exercise. And don't forget to breathe correctly.Exercise by itself is not as useful and effective as combining diet with exercise. And as the author points out, you should`t bother with exercising if you are not paying attention at what you eat.Reading the book makes you feel that these are exercises that I can do. There are photos showing you each step in each exercise. I also like that you are not required to buy any special equipments or go to a gym. You can exercise at home.

I've been meaning to get myself trim, especially in the abdominal area so I read this book wanting to get some tips on how to flatten my tummy. The wealth of information I received was more than I could ask for. I love how the author included diagrams to really break everything down. The instructional pictures really help when you're trying to mimic the exercise routines. I was able to notice a difference in my abs within just a few days of following these exercises. This is a great book, and I highly recommend it.

I bought this book because I was looking for a way to get into shape this summer and this book gives me many exercises I can do right at home.With thorough explanations AND pictures of what the exercise looks like when executed, this book delivers.Abdominal strength is critical for so many important bodily functions and this book tells you why and how to do them. A resource I will be using a lot for my personal training program.

This was the perfect abdominal exercise book for me. It was both informative and easy to use with lots of explanations and illustrations. The book makes it palatable to follow the routine even though some of the exercises are tough, some I won't get to until much later. But I am noticing a difference after just a few weeks, especially in the are of energy and stamina. This has been a very helpful book.

So many of these exercises are old school and have been forgotten by the majority...glad to see them here and I`m going to start using them again. Thanks for putting the info in a book.
